Meet Alex

Maya Real Estate Brokerage is owned and managed by Alemayehu “Alex” Tarekegn since 2004. With more than 15 years experience in real estate sales, property management, investment and development, Alex is an expert in bank owned real estate foreclosure (REO), Home Affordable Foreclosure Alternative (HAFA, Broker Price Opinion Resource (BPO), short sale/foreclosures (SFR), and Housing urban Development foreclosure selling broker (HUD).

As a broker, Alex  has produced multi-million-dollar real estate transactions and, as an investor and developer, he has participated in the rehabilitation and sale of numerous residential properties. Even though he is the principal broker of his own company, Alex continues to sell real estate full-time by choice and runs the day-to-day operations of the company as managing broker so to better serve his clients who expect and demand knowledge, expertise and exacting level of marketing that the company provides.

He also owns and manages several very valuable properties in the Washington dc metro area, as well as a security services firm, General Protective Services. Before launching his career in real estate, Alex co-owned and managed a bakery and grocery store.
